Dear Ruby, Hey Sweetie!

I hope all is well in your life.  I wonder if you’ve settled into this new school year already.  I can’t wait to learn about you and your life over the past 6 years.  So last letter I was telling you about our softball tournament, well, we finally got a loss!  However, it is double elimination so we just have to beat one team in the loser bracket, then we have to beat the team that beat us (5B) twice.  It is so much fun.  The staff have been allowing us to use the softball equipment in the afternoons and evenings at Rec lately.  On Saturday, they chose an All-star team, two from each housing unit, to play a church team that travels the state and plays inmates and gives a testimony.  I found it really inspiring and I hope to be a part of something like that when I get home.  God has been reminding me to “look forward, not far.”

Meaning I need to move toward my goals but not to look too far ahead to them, but just the next step in that direction.  Also, that I need to not wait until I get home to share His love with others, but to serve Him even here on my way.

I’m so grateful He loves me and guides me now.  I can’t wait for you to learn of Him!  I love and miss you so much.

And remember, God made you special and He loves you very much.

Love always,

Daddy
