Dear Ruby,

Happy Birthday sweetie!!!

I can’t believe you’re a teenager now! I hope you had a fun party with your friends and I hope your mom took you to do something extra special on this momentous occasion. I wish I could talk to you so I can know more about who you are growing up to be. For now, I’ll just hope that your mother is being a positive influence and that you know how much you mean to me. My out date has changed again, it is April 29th 2028, when I finish this work contract at the end of this March it will be moved to March of 2028.

I keep praying for you and Raiden, even for your mom. I hope you guys are all healthy, happy, and well taken care of. Oh, did you see the birthday card I sent you? I hope you like it. I know there isn’t much I can do for you right now as far as materialistic things, but soon hopefully I can be a part of your life again and be emotionally there for you. I been reading some books on being an absent father and books on sober living, I’m taking every measure available to be a better man and dad.

I love you sooo much my pumpkin pie.
