Dear Ruby,
Hey sweetie I hope your are enjoying this frigid weather! I got 33 days of goodtime for working and I just finished my Custodial class so I should be getting 44 days for that too. Hopefully, I can get some more contracts soon. Before summer gets here I can put in for work release, that would be very beneficial. I also put in for a program on Sundays called Malachi Dads, it is a Christian based program designed to help make us into better men for our children.
Speaking of God, I was reading “Our Daily Bread” this morning, it mentioned an author named A.W. Tozer who said “It is doubtful whether God can bless a man greatly until He has hurt him deeply.” I feel that is what has been taking place in my life. I strayed so far from Christ and I have had to suffer. But in this suffering I have been rewarded with a relationship with Him. I know that our relationship will be restored soon and I’ll be a much better father to you because of this season.
A lot of the time I feel like I need to be doing something to facilitate my release or the custody case but in the Bible the book of Exodus says in 13:14 “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” I still stay on top of the things I need to accomplish and I will always work to better myself but I am learning just to trust God, He keeps His promises and His word.
I love you and miss you everyday. And remember, God made you special and He loves you very much.
