Dear Ruby,

I hope you are doing well. I was going to write a summarized version of the story of Joseph (from the coat of many colors fame) but my summary ended up over 3 pages. Oops! It is a really good story, I hope you will read about it. Once I am able to start seeing you maybe I can arrange for you to receive a children’s bible. Anyways, it shows how sometimes we experience negative things in our life, sometimes undeserved and sometimes more severe than needed, and we don’t realize the purpose of those trials and tribulations we experience until afterwards or even much later. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, imprisoned because of an evil woman, and yet he became the second most powerful man in Egypt and was responsible for saving a lot of lives (including the ones who caused his suffering). You see, God used those situations in Joseph’s life for a good result. That story motivates me to keep trying to live a righteous life knowing that He is working out something for His glory. Plus I know that no matter what happens or what is said that you will always love me and no one can change that.

Grandma and Uncle Frankie are supposed to come see me Monday, I’m pretty excited for that. I hope that one day soon I’ll be anticipating a visit from you!

I miss you a great deal and love you so so much!

Remember, God made you specialand He loves you very much.

Love,

Daddy
