Dear Ruby,
Hope you’re doing well pie. The holidays are upon us, that means time off of school! When I was a kid I looked forward to that a lot. Are you the type that would rather be home on you tablet or at school with your friends? I can’t wait to get to talk to you and find out little things like that about you that have developed over the last 4 years.
Bad news, the devil has been at work! I was taken out of my culinary class because supposedly someone at the Education Office in Vermilion County told the lady here that I failed my GED in 1998. Aunt Jodi contacted the Education Office and they told her that the records clearly show that I passed it. Not to mention I graduated college in 2009 (with honors btw). Now I have to work everything out here in order to get back to earning good time. Worst case scenario, I just get a job here and earn good time that way. Still, it hurts to work towards a goal and have someone lie to or about you. But we have to remember that God works through all things in our lives for a greater good. Just trust that He will not lie to you and He will provide your needs.
Good news, Grandma Babe, Uncle Frankie, and Uncle Pooper will be here Monday to see me! This is my first in person visit since I’ve been arrested (unless you count when Uncle Codie was arrested and came to the county jail with me). I’m really excited to hug my mom, the only person I want to hug more than her is YOU!
I know I say it over and over but I am thankful for this time of punishment in my life. It has humbled me and opened my heart to Jesus. I’m grateful for the fact that not only do I have the opportunity to come home and start a new life, but I can start a new life in Christ Jesus.
I love you Pumpkin Pie! And remember, God made you special and He loves you very much!
Love, Daddy
