Ruby,
Hey kiddo! Oh, I miss you so much! I hope everything is going well for you, at home and at school. Your big brother’s birthday is in a couple of weeks, he’ll be 20! Can you believe that? Do you see his mom at school? I’m sure all the students love her; she is so nice. I haven’t talked to him either, though. In fact, I haven’t talked to him in about 5 years. I wrote him, but he never wrote back. When I was out, I had told him I always wanted to see him and anytime he vented he could call and I’d pick him up…he never called. I’m sure he had his reasons, I mean who wants to hang out with their dad, right? At least that is what I tell myself. IDK if he’ll ever let me talk to him about Jesus, hopefully, he’ll meet a girl that introduces him to the Lord.
Today, I read about a lady names Jochebed. She was Moses’ mother. When Moses was born, the Pharoah said all Hebrew baby boys were to be killed! Jochebed hid Moses for about 3 months, then put him in a basket and floated him down the Nile River when she knew the Egyptian princess would be hanging out by the bank of the river. She was sure the baby’s cries would get sympathy from the princess. She was right. The princess took him in as her own. Then, Jochebed became a nurse (like a nanny) for the palace and was able to help raise him. She raised him to believe in God, unlike the Egyptians.
Christian parenting takes courage. Society will draw our children away from the godly values that we want to instill in them. Like Jochebed, we can set our fears aside and risk anything necessary to teach our children to follow Jesus.
That is why I hope I can get home soon, so I can help teach you Christian values. I pray that your mother will, I really do. I may be getting some really good news soon. My prayer team and I will continue praying and Jesus will keep responding.
Oh, I saw a place on TV I want to take you to, it’s called Museum of Illusions. We’ll make a road trip when I get home.
I’m still looing at that same moon at night, thinking about you. I’ll keep praying for you and your mom and brothers and sister.
Love,
Daddy
