Ruby,
Hi Sweetie! Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you did something nice to help your mother to have a wonderful day today. School should be out soon, are you excited? Do you have any big plans for summer? I’m so ready to go swimming myself. Depending on what happens in a couple weeks, I just might get my wish.
Today, I was watching In Touch Ministries with Charles Stanley, Grandma Babe’s favorite, he was talking about leaving a “Godly Legacy.” Basically, it was about the image you leave in your children’s mind about your faith. Do they hear you discuss scripture? Do they see you cry out to God in trying times? Do you pray with your children? Do they see your trust in God in everything?
It breaks my heart that you haven’t seen me or your mother in that light at all. I can tell you how that has changed now “until the cows come home,” but, I think you’ll need to see it lived that way. I hope and pray that I’ll get home so you can see the power God has in my life and the joy it brings. I pray your mother will find Christ again and you can see from her example, too. I pray morning, noon, and night that God will come into both my children’s lives and you will learn of Him. Like I said, I can’t wait to come home, become part of a religious community and have you come be a part of that church, too.
I love you, pie, and pray that we’ll see each other soon.
Love,
Daddy
